PeakView Basecamp
Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use PeakView Basecamp. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent before using the service.
Account responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your password with others. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Impersonating another person or creating fake accounts is not permitted.
Summit verification
PeakView Basecamp verifies summit claims using GPS coordinates and EXIF metadata from submitted photos. You must have genuinely summited the mountain you are claiming.
PeakView reserves the right to reject summit submissions that do not meet verification criteria, appear fraudulent, or cannot be verified. Decisions on verification are final. Submitting false summit claims may result in account suspension.
Acceptable use
You may not use PeakView Basecamp to submit fraudulent summit claims, manipulate GPS data or photo metadata, or attempt to deceive the verification system in any way.
You may not use the platform to harass other users, post illegal content, or interfere with the operation of the service.
Subscription and refund policy
Elite subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings, and access will continue until the end of the paid period.
Summit Series Altitude Codes grant lifetime Elite access and are non-refundable once redeemed. Each code can only be used once.
We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at billing@peakview.com within 30 days.
Intellectual property
The PeakView Basecamp platform, including its design, code, and content, is owned by PeakView. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any part of the platform without written permission.
You retain ownership of photos you upload. By uploading a photo, you grant PeakView a limited licence to use it for summit verification and to display it on your public profile if your summit log is set to public.
Limitation of liability
PeakView Basecamp is a digital record-keeping and challenge platform. We do not organise expeditions, provide safety guidance, or bear any responsibility for decisions made in the field.
Mountaineering is dangerous. Use of this platform does not constitute any form of safety endorsement. Always seek qualified guidance before attempting any climb.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PeakView's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.
Right to modify terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a notice within the app. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
If you have questions about these terms, contact us at legal@peakview.com.
